Default Logics EVP88

Hi, MC Para D told me how he used on his oldskool garage tunes, and Im guessing he used its EVP88 for rhodes.

Now, Ive been lookin for the perfect rhodes since 2001ish. the EVP88 comes close, but I feel like Im not doing something to make them sound like proper MJ Cole or Tuff Jam rhodes...I feel like Im missing suttin really obvious - common - and necessary to get them sounding proper.

The EVP88 is best rhodes emulator/sample(r thing) Ive dealt with (with Lounge Lizard being #1 but I cant get that to midi into Logic).

So anyone know about rhodes and Logic and stuff. Please help out.

Also, Id like to know how to make my break in Logic instead of importing/rewiring. How do you import your own drum sounds?

AFAIK...
MJ Cole mics up a real rhodes for his tracks. The EVP88, although considered the best soft emulation for a rhodes, is too clean IMO. The Lounge Lizard has a more dirtier sound. You could probably add a little distortion to it or run it through a amp or something to get that sound.

ag what you need mate is a internal midi router this will give you internal midi ports inside your machine so in devices list LL is set to be controled by logic

sonic foundary do the most stable one

(basicaly you have four midi ports)

connect them to any other midi program and thats it if you need audio in side you logic project bounce down to an input

I shouldnt be telling you this but i ran the Logic EVP88 on that mc ryder track that i remixed recently, its a VERY good piece of kit alongside the evp73 which leans more towards the electric piano's But in order to run the software you 1st need to buy Logic Audio and then Buy the plugin seperately, i think its about £150

I thought the EVP88 was an EXTENSION to the EVP73, not something to sit beside it??

Two different instruments... EVP73 is a cut down/lite version of EVP88. EVP88 runs in Logic only. EVP73 can run in other VST host such as Cubase.
