| Out of the two souncards, get the Audigy. It's got much better technical specifications than the other one you've listed. I think the Audigy can record up to 24 bit/ 96khz, which seems to be the standard these days.
The only thing you have to watch out for is that the Audigy is a new soundcard and might not work properly without the latest drivers. |

| The audiophile is the better soundcard and at only £100 you cannot go wrong.
With the audiophile the latency is low and you wont be waiting ages for your keyboard notes to come through. |

| so i am having a similar problem, also working with soundblaster audigy 2 and it was recommended that i remove it. the audiophile was also recommended to me but i have searched and searched for it online hard to find and when you do find it, it seems to be an unreasonable price.. maybe im looking in the wrong areas any suggested links????? |

| Soundcard Well you don’t look that hard then do you? Have a look at this link and you will be shocked at the low price.
Now just get the thing before the price goes up again. http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk/mod_1...=1.1.5.2.1-31-4

Ps if you suffer from bad latency? Get these drivers as they will improve the latency quite a lot on any soundcard as it’s the drivers that cause bad latency. http://www.asio4all.com/ It’s an asio driver that will lower the latency so you can play your keyboards live with no lag, it’s also good for playing synths in your music software.
Also come to a music site that i have learned loads from www.serious-sounds.net and get some advice |

YUP, Audiophile is amazing. Just got one for my new rig and it is great. I only paid £50ish (Dolphinmusic.com)
AD converters are the dog's bo**ocks and, yes latency is good too. |

| Soundcards Hi there I think the audiophile is a much better choice than an audigy....Creative make amazing soundcards there's no doubt of that, I use an Emu 1820m on the PC and it's wicked and Creative have a lot to do with it - but with the soundcards you always see dotted round PC World etc. you're normally getting a multimedia package, and that costs.....so you're not getting the best value for money there (for producing) - basically anything by M-audio or Emu are better, the more you spend the more you get - but there's a lot of soundcard you can get for 70-80 squid now - you don't need free demo software, or fancy packaging, or remote controls - they're all good in some situations but best off get a rock solid card with reliable ASIO and WDM drivers, good software, and proper jack connections. Also if it's PCI put it as far away from the power supply in your computer as possible, and graphics cards with fans.....and job done :-) there is a Proteus X package by Emu which is an amazing deal, and I think it runs for about 120 quid - have a look it's awesome! |

| the sound blaster cards have a much higher signal to noise ratio than the m-audio, ive had both and the m-audio kills it, sound blaster just gave me $$$$ and the inputs on the SB are terrible |
