Default How do you...

...upload a mix off mini disc onto the net?

I know how to record it to my pc, but how/where do i go from there? Do I need to register with places such as Angelfire?

Any help is, as always, much appreciated.

Cheers

Right, once its on the net, your gonna need to convert it into a format for the net... .wav files are just tooooooooo large, and will take forever!.

Main formats used are:

MP3: (good quality, large in size)
Real Audio: (OK Quality, ok in size)

Some wav editors such as Goldwave can save in MP3 format. You will need Real Producer (www.real.com) to convert your mix into Real audio format.

Once you have it converted, you will need to upload it to the net. Some free places dont allow audio, so be careful!.. Depending on the webspace place you use, you can either upload via their site. If not, yuo will need an FTP program. This allows you to transfer files from your computer to the internet.

Once you have it uploaded onto the net, make sure it works, then distribute the link!

Cheers Qwest. I'm having a few problems getting the $$$$ing thing onto my PC. I've got my minidisc player connected to my pc, with a cable plugged into the headphone socket on the player. Is that right?

I played the mini disc and it played out thru the speakers on my pc, but when I tried recording in both Acid Pro and Sound Forge, on the playback there was no music. Also, how do you increase the volume at which the tracks are recorded within these programs?

Are Sound Forge and Acid Pro good for this sort of thing, or would you recommend that I use different software for saving music to my PC?

Any other help will be greatly received...

Also, Qwest, you wanna sell your copy of Sticky & Kele Le Roc 'The Things We Do For Love' yet? Cheers geez!

Big up
