Default Help With Bass!!!

Im making old skool 4/4 Garage and the main thing i have found the hardest is making the bass! I have listened to old Tuff jam and Rip etc and have listened to their bass lines and i just cant get that smooth crisp sound.

I am using reason and the Subtractor on that and im just pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get that booming smooth sound.

Any help will be appreciatted.

Cheers

Mike

Have to remember that back in 95 a lot of this software didn't exist and it was a bit more back-to-basics. A standard Sine Wave from the S3000 tends to do the trick...bit of compression won't hurt either. Think you'll find a lot of it is about playing sharp patterns with it...not too many sustained notes.
