Default Equipment/ packages/ software for making music - ADVICE NEEDED!

I am looking to get into producing. I have a PC with a good memory and good processor.

What music packages/software would you recommend and what sort of prices am I looking at??? (I know the prices run into the hundreds).

I've heard people going on about Cubase Logic and Reason and other stuff. What's the difference between them all?

Also, I know I would need a keyboard. I know I would need one which is compatible with a PC, but is there anything else I would need?

Cheers,

Plat

I've just been looking at a few websites that sell music software. Steinberg Cubasis VST is less than £50. Is it any good? What will it do for me??????????????????????

The link to the fruity loops thing doesn't work. It says "Requested URL file not found".

Is there any other way to get it?

Cheers.

Thats was the demo anyway. I leached it from another site, so if they havnt got it up anymore the link on my site doesnt work.

You can the get the full version from kazaa.

Once youve got the actual prog you can download the FLOOP files from my site. a FLOOP is a fruity loops file.
