| some stupid questions:
a) did you hook it up to the line in?
b) is audio input of the card on? It may be turned off in your soundcard mixer.
c) have you ever used the soundcard to record analog sources before? |

#5 | | Guest | if its your cd player then you need to go from the double jack output of the cd player (at the back of the cd player the two hole one red and one black) the end of the wire needs to be a single jack that plugs into the line input of ur computer
if ur using a cd or ur using a minidisc or woteva then u could go from the headphone socket to the line input of ur computer using a single jack to jack lead.
if this doesnt make sense im on msn m8. | |

| that could be it too:
It may be looking for a stereo plug and if you're using a monojack, it may not work |

| cool...
okay, you need to find your input gains and trim them down so you're not running in the red.
There's probably a mixer on your computer somewhere where you can set that - or you could just record at a lower level... |
