DJ Fat Zed Analogue Join Date: Feb 2002 Posts: 543	As much RAM as you can (PC or Mac), SCSI if at all possible. Lots of hard drives on different busses. I get as many tracks as possible by having drives on firewire, ATA and two SCSI 160 channels. Don't get 15k rpm drives though, they're too loud for studio use. Get 10k. If you're new to it all, then get PCs from specialists like Carillion or Digital Village and get Macs from......erm......Aple.

Sen Da Elda Moderata Join Date: Jun 2001 Posts: 4,513	Oh, yeah, Zed's got a good point - high speed drives on at least 2 busses for asynchronous audio input. SCSI is sweet, but expensive...my scsi buss is currently not seeing my sampler, so something's off...
