a second hand Korg Triton. Reason - Ive been speaking to a few peeps and they all seem to think this is a must for Old skool. Although you can get soundfonts of all the Tritons presets

you can get the module version for just under that. That sounds pretty decent.

i would say try and get something that has a combination of nice rhodes, bass and brass.

if i were you i'd buy a few different cheaper things, thats what i'm doing/have done and my equipment all sounds pretty good.

next thing i'm gunna buy is...ermm...i duno actually. but i'm gunna be buying it soon!

You are getting RIPPED OFF if you are paying that much for Fruity. You can buy
"FL Studio Producer Edition" for US$149 direct from www.flstudio.com

you could get a midi controller (oxygen 8 etc), and a Triton rack, for about £1000. or you can get a used Triton for under £1000.

Or just find the soundfont of the Triton presets (if you find it let me know where you got em!)

Just search around the net. I found a Used Triton LE for £795, with a years warranty before, but i didnt have the cash to get it

Also check Ebay.

Yeah cheers for that...

I had a look on Ebay... not much on there

I havnt had much luck with SoundFont... I dont really know anywhere to get them, i went to that Hammer Sound site, but most of the ones I downloaded sounded $$$$ and cheesey!

Know anywhere to get good ones Tempo?

Nice one Bro!

I got a load from that hammersound site - Some are ok. Some of the Rhodes ones are good (Piano Section i think) but you have to Chord them, not just play them as a single note. Also some of the organs are ok, but most sound like they're straight out of a church!
I got a load free with my soundcard too, its a Soundblaster Platinum Audigy EX.

Dont know any other sites to get them. Have a look on www.futureproducers.com/forums and see if anyone on there has posted any soundfont sites.

What Software do you use? If youv'e got fruity have you got the soundfont Plugin or do you use something else to play them?

I use FLStudio 4... stright from Kazaa I also use Recycle for any cutting up I need to do!

I think mind came with the soundfont plugin... i dunno they just worked from the start.....

Yeah A couple of the Piano ones were ok... I have a track that used them in the Audio Patio if u want to listen.. its the 2 step track...

I got some of the Rhodes as well, they mostly just sounded a bit dulll though, maybe I just picked some crap ones! I tried to get some trumpet samples as well but they were all $$$$! I noticed on your Old Skool track there was a good trumpet melody, is that a soundfont?

Yeah it is, its an Alto Saxaphone. I think that i got that one free with my soundcard.

Download the rhodes soundfont below. its quite nice if you chord it with 4 notes. it sounds nice and warm. Good for old skool ukg

http://www.hammersound.net/cgi-bin/...d=Rhodes_73.rar

With your soundfont player in fruity do you have to load the soundfonts back up if you close fruity and then open it again? I do and its bloody annoying!

If the link dont work, go to the piano section http://www.hammersound.net/cgi-bin/...0&ListLength=15
and its the third one down, RhodesEVP73

Ive got msn but i cant send files coz of a firewall (Im at work, doing nights at the mo).

go to the piano section, its the 3rd one down, its called Rhodes EVP73.

Send it to the piano roll and put notes at G5, E5, A5, F6 (So they all play at the same time) and play it for 4 steps. Then build up a melody from that. Should sound nice
