Best free VST instrument?

Trilogy Registered User Join Date: Jun 2001 Posts: 1,070	Best free VST instrument? Been on lengthy travels to find decent VSTs for no price at all, a challenge! Found too - one called Ganymead which produces a very nice bass sound, very clean. Another is an organ called RMF, produces a very realistic sound, good for 4/4 old skool stabs. Juno X2 (not free but close) CM101 (good for breakbeat basslines) and loads of others, have a look around, as i am on a mac i have no idea what the qualities of VSTis are on the PC. i know quite a few more are available though i also have heard alot of them are quite bad... www.kvr-vst.com Last edited by lady-j : 19-05-2002 at 03:24 PM.

Yep, I second the CM101. They also have the SR202 (drum machine) which is also good. BTW, how ya doin' J? Still in the US or back in the UK?

Qwest GarageLovinFamily.co.uk Join Date: Jun 2001 Posts: 2,348	i just checked a site with info on the CM-101, and it said it cost £5 (Free with Computer Music 36).. so i thought, i got 1 or 2 of those magazines, so i hunted around, and sure enough, i found a CD with CM-101 on it... opened up the case to put the CD in the comp... and it wasnt there... ive lost the CD

If so, how would i go about doing that?... as fruity loops dont really wanna do it who can tell im an amatuer at this $$$$

Trilogy Registered User Join Date: Jun 2001 Posts: 1,070	You have to open up Cubase, program your bassline sound and pattern, then export it to wav (make sure you add a little pause at the beginning so there is a clean attack) and you have a wav loop to use in Fruity!
