Anyone with knowledge of cool edit can u help

My problem is I cannot save as an mp3 i get a messege come up saying "file is probably in use by another application, Please close the other application and try again" But I have no other programmes running. Any thoughts?

if you have the file opened twice under the same name while using cool edit then that coulld be the problem.for instance if you r using the multi track and you open a file once then edit it and open it again.because you havent saved the edited one it classes it as being open twice and wont let you save.i could be way off the mark but its the only thing i could think of.
p.s sorry if i worded that really badly but it was kinda hard to get out hope it helps

i don't think that you can save as an mp3 from cool edit. try saving as a mixed down wav and convert to mp3 with a converter...

you can save i have done b4 and it is an option, my version is cool edit 2001
