Default advice for home studio+what firewirre

basically, i have bought a macbook(1gb ram)
rode k2 condenser mic
and am now desparate to buy adevice so i can start recording asap.
i will mainly be recording acoustically with
classical guitar
harp
cello
voice
thus need good quality pre amps in the device.
i will mainly be recording by myself alough am sure at alter date will introduce more players to the set up at times.

as my knowledge is so teally limited i need some help, so heres the options im looking at

the m-audio 1814 firwire

ive heard this has really good quality preamps, and is excellent to use

presonus firepod

this apparently has better preamps for the same price as the firwire 1814,and has multiple inputs, but the level knobs on it dont allow for subtle changes in level which is a drawback

the firebox
ive heard the pre amps in that arent as goo, but dont really know

i would be so gratefull if some you guys could help me out, thanks alot

I would go for an MBOX2: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/...product_id/7550 better preamps than the others you mentioned.
