How much does anyone else here pay to get plates done? We can get them double sided for £35 at the dubstation in london. Anyone know anywhere cheaper?

Nah not really, £35 at Transitition Studios.
Do you have a number and location for Dubstation, also do you know of any Garage distributors and company's apart from planetphat, that press records. Cheers!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but i have never get any tunes cut to a dubplate but...
Is there any minium amount you have? could you just do only one dubplate for the price of 35£ ?
Im coming to London in a month or two and it would great to do some dubs, cause its not really possible to do it here...

That's the point of plates, you only get one or two done, they are a one off, so yes, £35 for just one

You go there wait till its your turn.
Pay £35 for 10 inch or £50 for 12 inch dubs
Get one tune or jingle put on one side and you can get the other done when you want.
You pay for the dub not the service, but you have to leave there sticker on the record so they know it came from there shop.

There is one called Music House in Islington, i dont know where though, its down a alley way, it looks a little bit like an old tin roof shed.

I'd reccomend you make sure they concentrate when you're getting them done. They were very busy at Music House when i was there but I think they got the recording level a bit low. The CD master I gave them was dynamically loud to the max with multibands and ultramaximisers, but the acetate was about 3dBs quieter than other acetates from there.

JTS in Brick Lane are good, I think you need an appointment for them. planetphat in Islington also cut a good plate, Olly especially.

one boy i know has got a 10 inch with four separate tunes on it but he is being a $$$$$ and wont tell me where he got it.i know that the volume of the press affects how much song you can put on it and this press is quite quiet.is this how he managed to get four on there?

That's one reason...also, the track times may be short.
