Sen Da Elda Moderata Join Date: Jun 2001 Posts: 4,513	Miss Old Skool, you probably should invest in a good Mic preamp, a condenser mic, and a good soundcard if you really want your vocals to shine. As for acappellas, you can get whole series of them...and many hip hop and RnB tracks have the acapellas on them as well... I just got one called Mistah's & Sistah's with a lot of decent material on it.

A vocalist who knows gear intimately is that much more of a force to reckon with as they can squeeze every last drop of goodness from their voice if they know how to work the mic. A lot of it (90%) is natural talent - but the 10% that separates the greats from the almost-greats is skill and experience. And if you want to be a recording artist, that means understanding the tools of the trade.
