Hi Everyone,

I'm doing music technology with film production degree and I have this assignment to do, where i have to (theoretically) build an entire working recording studio... emphasis on working!

I'm a little confused about a few aspects of how some equipment is linked together, so i was wondering if anyone could clear these up for me.

1 - How is everything physically connected to a pc/mac? This may seem like a really stupid question, and i'm sure i'll kick myself when you tell me...

2 - I need to get a headphone connection in the live room, so is there like a multicore with XLR sockets AND a few headphone sockets? And also, how does a headphone amplifier fit in, generally, with a studio?

3 - I have a Mackie Onyx 32 8 desk, and i need an AD / DA converter, so does that mean i need a 32 channel converter? if so, any suggestions on cheap good ones?

I think thats pretty much it.
