The Politik - Remix Album Competition

Vocalist/songwriter Bembe Segue (4Hero, Bugz in the Attic) + musician/producer Mark de Clive-Lowe (Freesoul Sessions, Restless Soul) invite you to The Politik Remix Album + Artwork Competition.

"We had a lot of fun making the album in London and Vancouver and now it's everyone's chance to have a go at flipping it. We've uploaded remix parts for the entire album plus the original raw artwork..." Share this link and info with everyone who might be interested... labels and crew people, pass this email onto your artists and networks.

This competition is open to anyone and everyone who'd like to have a go at remixing one (or more) songs from The Politik's debut album which also features US MCs Blu, Bahamadia and replife. The winning remixes will be compiled into the official remix album The Politik Remixed to be released on both physical and digital formats. The second part of the competition is an artwork remix competition for the cover art of the official release. Download the original artwork by Joshua Mays and have a go at reworking it in the spirit of the Remix.

All entries must be received by April 14, 2008.

The Politik's self titled debut album was released in the UK 2007 - it's the 8th longplayer MdCL has produced and he's joined by Bembe Segue - the writer and voice behind numerous underground UK releases.

a quick update.... originally only the vocal files and select music parts were available. now tho, the whole album is there - all the music parts (mainly rhodes, synths and basses) are now online except for drums and samples from two tracks... let the remixes begin!

heads up everyone - just over 2 weeks to go in the remix competition. so far we've had a lot of entries from all around the world covering just about every style imaginable. there are some stand-outs, some that leave you scratching your head and best of all some that introduce some new production talent.

there's about 60 entries in so far and we're hoping to see a whole lot more over the next 2 weeks.

to all the remix contest producers and beatmakers, sorry but we're delayed in announcing the winners. we'd hoped to have made the announcement by now, but due to the number of entries and the judges juggling multiple responsibilites (hmmmmm.... see, if we were a big funded company, we'd get some office juniors to do all the b.s. work... but then... if we were some big funded company... this contest probably wouldn't even exist).

so, sit tight, yes the contest has closed. yes the winners will be announced. no they will not be announced on schedule as we'd hoped. yes the winning entries will be officially released also, no sorry - not all entries will be posted for everyone to hear - that office junior must have snuck out to an extra long lunch again
