    Jus heard Always -

Luv ure choice of vox samples, were did u get them from?

I rekon u should use that guitar wakka sound more in the beats...its a nice sound

+ I would have swung the beats a bit more on the programmin side to give it a bigger skip (but that's jus me!)

(Im checkin the other mixes afta late lunch)

vox of an old house pella. I find that too much swing on beats can make it sound a bit dodgy in the mix so I try to keep it around 40% shuffle

DJ Stylus the intro hit me hard. U shudda carried that theme on a lil more after the drop. Nice break. Can I hear a RHodes? i better I recognised that organ loop. Where u get those rhodes from? nice oldskool elements including sax.

on the arrangement side, it doesnt flow so well. Composition may need a lil fixing up. It needs to be more distinctly grouped?

bass riff wasnt in my face enough. I cant even remember it whereas a "inyoface" bass riff shud stick in brain like white on snow, almost.

Lastly, u deff need more swing. When I listen to oldskool from outside the room, it sounds off. all out of sync. thats the duttiness. u gotta swing it and just work with it. the real ukg heads will feel the swing.

    good effort 7.9/10

Always is nice and oldskool, im sure Mattjam will play this one.
I dont know how you manage the 4floor groove so well, and can still make breakbeat stompers. That I cant do, I can only make breakbeat tracks really. keep up da $$$$!

    Ego-B Remix

I'd use a harder pad on the intro. The beats r nice, check the tuning on those strings, it kinda clashes a bit 2 me.
Drops into a really nice B-line, I actually luv this rollin part - again Id lose that string part (but that's jus me!)

Organ section parts good, change the tinny beats over the top of it 2 shakers, the endin beats again are good, but that string's gettin in the way a little.

I rekon with a couple of alterations, you've got it!

(I'm biased towards the Oldskool I know!)

I've got some Oldskool I pieced in 97 I could play u, when I say Oldskool, I'm talkin what most would call 'Rave'.

    I can't remember the exact BPM's but it’s round 160

Also jus finished a poppy Garage backin that sounds like its from 98, that's ure typical 133bpm...but this track would suite TV music more than a club anyday.

I need to get my hands on some freeware that can encode Real Audio files from MP3's or Wav's - Jess did the last one for me a a fav

If I can get it sorted I'll post some edits on here....

PS my tips are only hangin here as what I remember hearing on the floors, Oldskool could be argued as something that should be taken forward,… or preserved in the generic style til the world explodes!!

I guess there r no rules apart from the one’s that apply to all music…
