thumbs down Bland Aid?

Alright, I've tried my hardest to like the Band Aid re-make but do people agree it's, erm, rubbish?!

Seriously, they've made it sound really depressing. I know the matter in hand isn't a bundle of joy but I juust think a more positive sounding record might encourge people to dip their hands into their pockets...

Personally, I'll be donating a fiver without buying the single. You know it makes sense!

xmas song, decorations, xmas deals......toooooo much - you get all panicked that you've not done all your shoppin by end of nov - wheres all the fun of oxford street on the last w/e before xmas......no xmas is complete without xmas eve panick buying for random family members and grabbing the last xmas pud in tescos (you do NOT need to buy them in august - unless u intend to soak them with a lethally high level of brandy/rum etc...)

rant over

It's more about what the single stands for and the cause it represents than the track itself... but know what you're saying.

150,000 people have bought it already and it's only Wednesday so I reckon the public have got the message - last time I checked the Band Aid track had sold more than the rest of the top 40 put together!!!!

That's a serious single - especially these days when they don't shift many.

Feed the world people, let them know it's Christmas Time, or erm...the beginning of December at least...

The Band Aid Dilemma....You want this record to succeed, because you want to helkp the people of Sudan. However, you hate this recording and feel your musical ego looming and refusing to be bruised.

The answer?

Buy as many copies of Do They Know It's Christmas by Band Aid 20 as you can afford.

Destroy them in amusing ways, on camera.

Post your pictures in this forum.

Charity. Violence. You know it makes sense

There's a website already doing this I'm told! But I'm just going to not buy the single and donate the money! save on their overheads that way!
