i got sent this in an email around this time last year.. apparently they are some very evil sort of desert spider which the troops in iraq have come across..
i cant remember the exact details but apparently their fangs contain an anaesthetic so if you are asleep, they can happily eat away half of your leg (for example)..
they also jump about 3 foot and run up to 10mph.. so they are not to be messed with..
makes u glad u live in england where u can easily stamp on any the creepy crawlies | |

Close Matt. They are actually 'camel spiders', but they don't eat the camels, they just tend to hang on the undersides to shun the light. They don't have any venom, and tend to stick to eating small prey such as small birds, lizards and other arthopods.
I used to have some as pets, woo. | |

Nah, they do run 10 mph, they can't jump or inject you with venom though. And they are not as big as they appear in that pic, if you look at the right you can see how close the guy is holding them, so they look bigger. They don't normally grow much bigger than a 5 inch leg span. | |
