    We Need Rhymes, Not Battles

Doesn't anyone write songs anymore? Fair enough, you lot all like to clash, but there's more to hip hop than dissin' each other in battles.
No-one wanted to battle before 8 mile came out, now everyone is on it. If any of you genuinely wanna make a career, or at least a bit of money out of hip hop, u gotta write tunes.
When you battle, you feed off someone else, and how are gonna elevate from that? Ok, you may be able to battle a bit better, but that's all you have, battling. To be original and write better rhymes, you gotta write something with more substance, something you've sat and thought about, you know, different subjects and topics.
We need some more songs to be written to give this board a bit more variety.

If you guys like the clashing element of battling, then we could battle with songs. We could all write one each, and then have a vote on the best one.
No disrespect to you battlers, but I'm bored with battling now.

Am I the only one who's thinkin this?

eh-heh..I dont allow feeding in this forum unless its in the mc battle thread..as for songs..and battling helps you to elevate lyrically, dvelop a stronger vocabulary in your flow..but I need beats to write songs to..get a feel of them and see what I can come up with..Battling can come off the top of the head, acapella style

I'm not saying that battling is bad, because it does help vocab, but there needs to be a bit more of a balance. Maybe by putting these skills picked up from battling to good use by writing some songs could help. I just say what I say because you can only battle for so long before you start being creative and writing some songs.

Yeah, that would be good to separate them, cos then whoever wants to battle can battle, and those who wanna write songs can write songs without the two gettin mixed up.
I don't mean to moan, because I'm not that sort of person, but I've just noticed that since I joined the site, less and less people are writing songs.
