True Eclipse, Some jamaicans like the idea of other people talkin patois and acting jamaican, but dont think there aint a FEW people who are for "being oneself" and are not feeling this copycat fashion. My family arent feeling it and neither am I.

Personally, I think its a bit nuts the way I can go uni and an asian can go into their language in their group, an african can go into their language on a fone, but when it comes to me, its everyones language. If that seems right to you, then were jus two different people with 2 diff opinions. No beef tho.

adrian, u keep sounding racist sometimes. i remember, when it was the anti-immigrant thread u wrote there something like whites should be with whites, blacks with blacks etc. so would u like this world be sergregated? would like apartheid? would u like to sit in the back of a bus when travelling to school? would u like to have your own ONLY FOR BLACKS and ONLY FOR WHITES restaurants, clubs, bars, cinemas, swimming pools, churches, streets, offices etc.? would u really like that?

^ that is down to how I was raised...maybe a little over the top? My views on that has changed by the way, but even a few weeks ago, I didnt say "whites shud be with whites", "blacks..." bla.. I suggested that 70% of black men with white women was too high a percentage.

But Im mellowing out, and no one shud be with someone they dont like. Be with who you like. Im not saying different. the ONE THING I would add to that is: "be with who you want from whatever race - but if u wudn like to be with someone from ur race EVER, then u gotta ask urself why".

I talked to my black friend with a white girl about this and he said: "I dont like black girls" - first...then he agreed that some are on a fashion thing while others are actually on a LOVE thing.

If he dont like black girls, aint gonna do anyone any good him going with one for the sake of it, is it? All I asked him to do was ask himself why...then carry on his life.

I know Ive said some close to the edge stuff, but I havent put another race down, and would never.

but what i find equally annoying is the fact that you, personally think you have the right to go on about it and most other things to do wit our race/culture. But you dont really have a clue do you? The simple fact that our culture is currently being embraced at the moment is a good thing, awareness is a good thing. lastly before I go off to uni:

Big radio station, one day a week, a non-jamaican (white in this case, but could have been black-african or suttin, colour not the issue) man plays reggae going back to the 70s at least. This man knows reggae inside out. He was in it before I was born. Hes been Ja more than Ive been to Camberwell. lol.
