This is a discussion on No battling skills ?....look here ! within the Open Mic forums, part of the The Studio category; u give it to king i will kill him lol...
Cassidy is a sick freestyler & lyricist. Grafh, sorta like Joey Bud can get a lil dark but his lyrics are immaculate, possibly one of the best at the minute as far as lyrically goes anyway. Rakim is in my eyes the best lyricist ever, he changed how people structured their bars, rhyming his words mid bar and not just at the end, and the complexity of his lyrics.
I'd say other noteable artists would be;
Cory Gunz
Styles P
Uncle Murda
Papoose
Lloyd Banks (Not a big fan personally but he's ill with a freestyle)
Big L
Cyssero
Canibus
Cormega
Big Pun (Just because I'll never forget the 1st time I heard Twinz - "Dead in the middle of little Italy, Little did we know that we riddled some middleman who didn't do diddely")

That Big Pun line is absolutely disgusting lol
I agree with most of your list but would add
Slaughterhouse - individually and a group, I recently started listening to crooked i and I think I need more albums
Saigon
Ransom
Jadakiss
Prob a few more but I aint thinking too hard![]()
Pretty sure i've heard a few Cassidy freestylers, n im certain he ain't just spat his own lyrics over different beats for them!? But who knows!
Yeah Slaughterhouse are tight, Crooked-I got that early westcoast grit to him, Joey & Royce can damage anything they want, they just got that ability to spit fire! I dunno about Joell Ortiz tho, im probably doing him an injustice tho cause I ain't honestly heard much from him.
If you thought long n hard enough about it you could think of loads more, Freeway, if you can listen to his voice enough, used to kill it on battles n sh*t!
Lyrics on dagsz level:
Get readii
Ya sure you want this?
Your $hit, your $hit, your really $hit,
you get hit, you get hit, you really get hit
with your own $hit.

Yea probably could, Eminem before Dre would get a mention for one.
I've heard the cassidy v freeway battle and that was all writtens, am sure I've heard a few others where I've heard the same bars on a tune.
Supernatural v Juice was good.
Juice is awesome, probably one of if not the best freestyler. His wakeup show freestyle is crazy and the one in the car where he's driving late for a show or something.
Murda Mook is nice in battles not sure how much is a freestyle, same with Millz and Serius Jones
Writtens but Joe Budden always comes hard in battles
Yea Ortiz is still new but he's good The Brick: Bodega Chronicles is pretty nice. And his new one with Frequency Roadkill I think its called.
If you have any trouble sourcing (if you want them anyway) them PM me.
Aint NoBody Clashin If Any One Wants To Im Up for Clash !!
I strongly believe that, If people took the time to read the person there battling's verse, they'd be easily able to develop punches and creativity from it, to come back better.
I know that goes for most of the vets on here: Bane, LJT, Hoodzy.
Rest of you need to elevate.
Not sure if this has been said on here..
Do not feed off other people's bars.
I can't stress it enough, but personally i find the bars that completly live off the other persons becomes weaker... just invent new hits back if you wanted a good come-back. or include 1bar that comes back to what they said, and the rest just punches out of no where =]. Its also a waste of a punch..
For example :
1st person:
Your mum is sh!t in bed//
She don't spit like you - you just swallow what i said//
2nd person:
My mum isn't sh!t in bed shut the f*ck up//
She don't swallow nothing, so get on your knees and suck up//
Not sure if this a personal opinion or if other people think so too..![]()
Agreed, whether it's better to include any at all is up to debate imo but when you feed off other peoples bars too much it starts to sound forced and like you're trying too hard.Originally Posted by Hoodzy

Well think of it this way, if all of your bars are being fed from the person your battling's bars then in what way are you being creative? I mean, sometimes you can be creative with what they say but most of the time replying directly to them will just stifle your abillity.
But again, whether you need any direct replies or not is up to debate really, cos without them are you really battling or you just comparing lyrics to see who's is better?

I ain't never been violated but my d!ck, you done already kissed it
They were the only bars I fed from in our battle. Normally I stay away from feeding because as Bane said, you are more or less just compairing lyrics. If you can be creative with it then fair enough, but don't be like;
Rapper 1) 'Oh your mum sucks d!cks blah blah'
Rapper 2) 'My mum doesn't suck d!cks blah blah'
If you speak about things that have happened previously, that is not feeding, that to me is firing personals. But again, don't make your whole verse based on that.
Also try listenin to wu tang clan an immortal technique jedi mind max B , FRENCH uncle murder cuz it helps u make a better flow most rappers dnt they jus talk wen dey rap like giggs good lyrics but not da best flow wen u develop a better flow its easier to fit un ryme- able words in ur verse cuz it cud fit in
