If I have to be a criminal to get by/
I’m doing to make sure my family don’t stave and die/
I ain’t never going to prison/
not even, if its to teach me a lesson/
il rather die trying to rhyme/
then doing a stint of hard time/
people can talk bout reap what you sow/
that didn’t help my daddy thou/
killed the day I was born/
coz the streets are so war-torn/
the police never bothered to find the killer/
its like they know who pulled the trigger/
born as the youngest/
but looked after the family, like I was the eldest/
mother worked 16 hours days, to cloth and feed us/
walked to and from school, coz i couldn't afford money for the bus/
protecting my two sisters was hard enough/
getting into fights, coz their boyfriends decided to get rough/
is my mother human, it can’t be possible/
she made things happen, when it didn’t look able/
Its bout time to stand up & be counted/
no longer will I be doubted/
its time I lived my life on the line/
$$$$ waiting for god to show me a sign/
I can’t live being poor no more/
no longer do I want bailiffs come knocking at the door/
the way I saw my mother struggle, that ain’t for me/
I know nothing in life, is for free/
if I have to rob and kill to get by, then so be it/
what you fink that I don’t mean it/
il rob you at gunpoint/
and ask you the keys to your joint/
empty the place dry/
watch you on your own TV, laughing at you when cry/
if you try and come back for revenge/
il bury you at the bottom of the Thames/
Il even sell drugs to help me get by/
if u try and withhold payment, I slug u when I drive-by/
I ain’t trying to be gangsta/
I’m just trying to make my families life better/
if you looking for someone to blame/
blame the government, for making the poor live life as a game.
