of what it's like living in the ghetto and being black
it is hard to stay on track
wen all i see before me is hunger dope murder and crack

So i kicked back relax and tried
but every night before bed i watched as momma cried
Thoughts rolled around in my head that something had to give
i had to find someway to change the way we lived
school, yeah dropped out saying later for that
i got to find some way right now to make my pockets fat
robbing and stealing naw never that
but i got this feeling inside me to lay a track.
