Default Emo vs Metal - you decide!

On New Years Day 2005, and wasting no time after the twin axemen's previous band Defenestration split up, Rob Reeves and Scott Warner began to lay down the blueprints for what would become Gunning For Goliath. Joining forces with esteemed frontman Adam Fowkes they began to write a repertoire of catchy-as-hell modern melodic metal.

Bassist Michael Kelly joined the band later that year having already cut his song-writing teeth with Signatures Remain and bringing a fresh dynamic and a new set of influences to the Goliath feast. G4G began to play shows up and down the country, developing their sound and recruiting ardent followers along the way.

The start of 2006 saw the final piece of the jigsaw put in place through securing the drumming services of Alex Smith. His father a successful drummer, Smith was born with rhythm in his blood and while still only 19 years old is immensely experienced playing with bands such as Torsion and Soldier.

Having played alongside extreme metal stalwarts Raging Speedhorn as well as Mendeed and Viking Skull it is becoming more apparent where Gunning for Goliath fit in the musical spectrum; the band sit equidistant between the brutal and the sublime. Fowkes' voice is the perfect contrast to the metallic rif$$$e and powerhouse drumming that ultimately creates an up-to-the minute sound through carefully crafted, accessible tunes. The band's live performances are becoming increasingly intense too, and after a mere eighteen months together the band are putting the finishing touches to the debut album, "How to Lose it All in a Heartbeat" which is due to be released at the start of 2007.
