Instrumental UK hit of 1972 or 1973

I remember a UK instrumental hit of the early 1970s, most probably 1972 or 1973. No, I'm not thinking of Popcorn, but it was around the same time. It was a very repetitive tune with a strong beat. I think it was more synth than guitar, but it's hard to remember clearly as I've not heard it for 35 years and I was only around 5 or 6 years old at the time. It had a kinda glam rock type of production.

I've never heard a cover of it and have never since heard it used in an advert, or sampled.

Any ideas at all? Or any suggestions how to track it down? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

What you're describing sounds very much like 'The Crunch' by The Rah Band . That wasn't a hit until 1977 though . Might your dates be slightly out ? Check and see . Good luck on your quest !

How anyone could offer a suggestion based on my description amazes me! But the name 'The Crunch' does sound kinda familar now you mention it. I could have got the dates mixed up - it was a long time ago! I'll investigate further. Many thanks for your help.
