    END of the world

However, a WORD of CAUTION. Just because the earth has survived various doomsday predictions so far, does not guarantee it will still be here in the year 2012, or tomorrow for that matter? Any known threat should be taken seriously. We are a vulnerable planet. The "Greenies" make some good points about the vulnerability of our ecosystem. While we do not believe any end of the world 2012 predictions will happen, we do still recognise that there are a lot of stupid, power hungry people who make the earth vulnerable to a doomsday. But not a 2012 end of the world doomsday!

It is a known fact that we have enough nuclear weapons (weapons of mass destruction) to destroy the world... many times over! And they say we're evolving!! Will the end of the world come on December 21 2012 because of this? All it would take is one lunatic to push the button! Result: end of the world by nuclear war. But is this really an end of the world 2012 doomsday prediction?

See how earth's forests have changed throughout
the last centuries. As the example of Costa Rica shows
there is hope for a green future.

a report on the "alarming" 2010 Amazon drought. How bad was it?
The rainy season is from July to September. We compared those three months over the previous decade and in 2010 some 57 percent of the Amazon, or 3.2 million square kilometers, was drier than usual.

Forests need about 100mm of rainfall per month to function normally and we saw a deficit in some places of up to 250mm. We estimate that roughly 2 billion extra trees died in 2010 compared to a normal year.
