In the last five years the Dutch dance industry has changed and grown dramatically. At the moment it is not just Dutch trance music that dominates the world, but also the other electronic music genres emerging from Holland. Holland is producing some of the world’s most exciting and promising new talent which is dominating international dance and pop charts with music in commercial and underground genres.
From Germany, UK, and Spain all the way to Australia and the US, artists like Fedde Le Grand, Mason, Shinedoe and Joris Voorn (to name but a few) are dictating the trends in the today’s dance world. At the same time lots of new and emerging Dutch record labels are supporting and encouraging this talent and are spreading the word around the world. Even Dutch promoters have managed to leave their footprint solidly on the international dance arena with their events. Time to share this talent with the rest of the world!
The goal of the Satellite 31 initiative is to promote Dutch electronic music and the artists internationally by organising a series of high profile club events, featuring some of the best Dutch artists and DJs. Satellite 31 will take place in Europe's main capital cities and beyond.
After a great kick-off night in Berlin, Satellite 31 splashes down in London at club The Egg on Friday 29 June (during London Calling) to present England with a selection of Holland’s finest… this will also be the start of a new bi-monthly residency at The Egg for Satellite 31.
The first room will be dominated by the new generation of techno-oriented DJs Holland has to offer. There will be a DJ set by 2000 and One, who has had a great year with his own releases as well as that of others on his label 100% Pure. Then there’s Joris Voorn, who has proven his skills throughout the years with his emotional techhouse and techno releases. Steve Rachmad has been quite a heavyweight on the Dutch scene for a long time, and has had the honour of compiling and mixing the Satellite 31 MIX CD for the cover of DJ Mag. Last on the list is Polder, a great minimal talent who will be giving a live performance on the night.
The second room will have more of an electro vibe, with Mason behind the decks. Mason put himself among the top league of DJ s with his hit ‘Exceeder’. At Satellite 31 he will be doing a DJ set, as well as his first ever live performance in the UK, called Mason & The Maker, together with Coen Berrier. Terry Toner is one of those DJs who is quite a star in the Netherlands, with his brilliant DJ skills. He will be joining Satellite 31, as will Generik.
The doors are open from 22.00 until 06.00
Tickets are £12 at the door and £8 for early birds ariving before midnight..
