A special ensemble - brought together by NW Jazzworks - performs a selection of pieces from Real Book North West, the ground-breaking new anthology of music by composers connected to the North West of England.

Up-tempo, straight ahead swingers are pitted against contemplative mood pieces; dirty, feel-good grooves sit alongside lyrical melodies. Add to the mix five of the region's most dynamic and expressive players - Mike Walker (guitar), Andy Schofield (saxophone), Steve Berry (bass), Lee Chisnall (piano) and Dave Walsh (drums) - and the result is an experience of sheer variety, energy and surprise.
