Kanye West To Headline Global Gathering 08 As His Exclusive Festival Appearance

Global Gathering are extremely excited to announce a very special headliner for 2008’s event. Making his exclusive UK outdoor appearance will be Kanye West. The multi platinum album selling and nine times Grammy award winning hip-hop legend will be taking centre stage at this year’s festival bringing his electrifying ‘Glow In The Dark Show’ to Long Marston Airfield. Early bird tickets are already SOLD OUT and with a headliner this big, don’t expect the remaining ticket options to be available for much longer.

Global Gathering have managed to secure Kanye West and organisers are thrilled that he chose the 2 day dance weekender for his only UK festival appearance this year. Kanye will transform the main stage into his new ‘Glow In The Dark Show’. This will be an entirely new designed set with Robots designed by acclaimed artist Christian Colon and the creatures by the legendary Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. Lighting will come from Martin Phillips and John McGuire who where responsible for Daft Punk’s Pyramid, possibly the greatest light show of all time. To have him at Global Gathering is an incredible coup.

To call Kanye pioneering doesn’t give him enough justice. His catalogue of sleek productions has broken down genre barriers between hip-hop, R&B, pop and electronic selling him more records than his contemporaries and increasing his fanbase with a series of phenomenal artist collaborations such as Daft Punk at this year’s Grammy Awards. Kanye crosses old and new school expertly, and since his 2007 album release ‘The Graduation’, his star has been shining brighter than ever. In fact it looks like it'll stay permanently fixated in the ascendant for many years to come.
