We’re back! And ready once again to unleash a mind-bending extravaganza, with an extraordinary selection of international artists, record labels and crew for London’s trancendental Christmas gathering of its psychedelic family.

Overcoming the setbacks of the past few months has been a challenge, but the cancellation of our August event has galvanised our desire to produce a spectacular event and end 2011 with a bang. To make this extra-special, we’re combining the forces of the two massive pioneering labels HOMmega Productions and Twisted Records showcasing their top performers in the main room. Cutting-edge London-based labels Mutagen Records and Liquid Records host Rooms 2 & 3.

And for all those who just don’t want to go home at 7am, we’ve arranged a very special afterparty at the legendary Corsica Studios 2 mins walk from the venue.

Hallucinogen aka Simon Posford is a pioneer of electronic music and founder of the psy-trance scene. With the release of his first album, "Twisted", which reached Number 27 in the French album charts, a genre was born. There are many words to describe modern electronic music but none that come close to the wealth of emotion and experience that comes from listening to a Posford tune.

Younger Brother Sound System Live

Younger Brother formed when Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan got together in the studio to express a shared love of esoteric electronic music. The resulting album was called ‘A Flock of Bleeps’ and went onto become an underground cult classic. It lead to demands for tours from London to Tokyo, New York to Moscow. By the time it came to do album number two, they’d grown to a point where crowds of 3,000 were attending gigs in a number of major cities. The second album, ‘Last Days of Gravity,’ moved away from the pure electronic sound of the first album and introduced the vocals of Ru Campbell; receiving masses of positive press and narrowly missing out on the Mercury Prize 2008. Since then Younger Brother has continued to grow in popularity regularly travelling the the four corners of the globe headlining at major events and festivals as an off shoot of the Younger Brother Band taking things in a dirtier and more underground direction we have the Younger Brother Sound System....I think we all agree this is going to be special!

ASTRIX LIVE is coming to Halcyon in Dec...

2011 has been another strong year for Astrix - Avi Shmailov - with live performances of his euphoric, pounding psy-trance sets having been the producer's main focus. This included a mammoth global tour to support his 2010 album 'Red Means Distortion', which yielded Astrix's 2011 highlights, including playing the tenth anniversary of Brazil's Tribe festival and a show at Privilege Ibiza. Shmailov also branched out into newer areas in 2011, planning an outlet for alternative musical output and embracing new visual media to keep the creative juices flowing: “I started editing my own HD videos and pictures, and it really feels like a new channel for my creative nature,” he says. “Also, I am planning to open a side project for other directions of electronic music in order not to confuse the hard psy-core fans.” But fear not, aforementioned fans, as Shmailov's other future plans, “working on my fourth album and making a new track with my buddies, Infected Mushroom”, look set to include a healthy dose of the full-on psy sounds that have earned him a place (53) in the Top 100 yet again.

We’ve secured the UK debut of Phadroid - A live multimedia performance where visionary Californian-based artist Android Jones and his wife Phaedra combine software, hardware and heart-ware, as he projects visuals to organically tune into the fluidity of the motion she creates on stage.

Phadroid have already blown away the Boomers and the Burners earlier in 2011 at Boom and Burning Man Festivals, but this is the first time they’ll perform in London as Android is here for his debut UK exhibition

Since May 2010 Phadroid has been collaborating with David Block: ‘The Human Experience’
(Human Experience Creations). David has brought a new level of depth to Phadroid by creating a unique soundscape for each performance as it unfolds. Thus through an organic conjunction of sound, movement, and projected visual images, the audience witness the three artists and three disciplines working in complete symbiosis – Definitely a Christmas cracker for the psychedelic spirit!

Younger Brother Sound System make their debut at Halcyon...

When two of the biggest names in psy trance decide to collaborate and start playing around with other genres, you just know things are going to get interesting. And that’s exactly what happened when Twisted Records’ Simon Posford aka Hallucinogen and Benji
Vaughan aka Prometheus got together to form Younger Brother…

Joined by Ru Campbell on vocals, they released their third album Vaccine earlier in 2011, which has led to comparisons with Coldplay, Radiohead and Pink Floyd. But there’s much more to Younger Brother than their more mainstream dabblings in the psychedelic rock side of things, as we found out when we had a chat to Benji ahead of a rare Younger Brother Sound System set at the Halcyon Christmas Ball at the Coronet Theatre on Friday 2nd December…

When Golan and Ohad Aharony first started making music together in 1999, who’d have thought they’d go on to become one of the world’s top psy trance acts? But their debut album Who Needs Love Songs, released in 2004, certainly cemented their spot, while this year’s techier This Ain’t No Disco highlights their versatility.
