Brixton is undergoing a resurgence lately, and Babalou is right at the heart of it. One of London’s most intimate club venues (you may remember it as The Bug Bar), Sexy Beast is the latest addition to the club, and will be bringing some of the most exciting house and electro DJs to Brixton on a monthly basis, playing some of the most beastly beats known to mankind!

Sexy Beast arrives with a bang on the Thursday of the Easter bank holiday weekend with none other than Paul Woolford, one of the hottest names in house music right now, having just featured on the cover of DJ Magazine and receiving massive critical acclaim for his new album ‘The Truth’, out now on 20:20 Vision.

Alongside him on the night will be Dean Muhsin, one half of Bearweasel who are making a name for themselves with quality deep releases on Tsuba recordings. Smiggy & Ficklegruber are the residents from Mayo Clinic, the renowned South London party crew, already regulars at Babalou having held down a residency last year and playing across London from Turnmills to The Tabernacle. Also playing will be new resident Matt Kennedy, spinning his dirty fidget house sound which has rocked Voodoo and Tut! Tut! in the past few months.

Sexy Beast will be running a DJ competition every month. Aspiring DJs should bring their CDs to the door each month to win a set at the night. There will also be a Happy hour from 9-10, 2 for 1 on all bottled beers and spirits to get the party started!
