Mr. Scruff & Turntables On The Hudson @ Giant Step Hoilday Party

Giant Step is proud to announce the Annual Holiday Party sponsored by Stolichnaya Vodka with an open bar from 9 PM to 11 PM, featuring champion UK DJ Mr. Scruff and local heroes Turntables on the Hudson. They will be battling it out on the main floor at BLVD on the Bowery.

Mr. Scruff has been hailed "most innovative DJ" for his marathon-long sets and tendency to sample sound bytes from cartoons and nature documentaries. Turntables on the Hudson, led by Mariano and Nickodemus along with multi-talented Nappy G bring their striking atmosphere of DJ and percussions to dance floors around the world.

The all-star line up also includes hip-hop innovator and beat boxer Taylor McFerrin, who has appeared on Gilles Peterson BBC World Wide Radio and created beats for the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards along with the honey-voiced soulstress Tiombe Lockhart, who appeared on the Platinum Pied Pipers' Triple P album. Jazz virtuoso Jose James, the newest addition to Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Label will join the stage along with DJ Moni, one of New York's top female disc jockeys and DJ Center, who brought the legendary Root Down Soundsystem Party to New York.

Also announcing sets by DJ Dhundee, the founder of Sugarcuts Records, who has spun alongside Grand Master Flash and Pete Rock and sets by Tyler Askew, founding member of the acclaimed New York City club night Rude Movements.

There will be some unannounced performances throughout the evening. The event will be free and by donation, where 100% of the proceeds will go to the Bowery Mission.
