THE WORLD’S FIRST
FULLY ECOLOGICAL NIGHT CLUB
OPENS TO THE WORLD FEATURING
THE LOOSE CANNONS / BLACK GRASS / BLENDE / CATCH23
Saturday 20th September 9pm – 3am
@ SURYA, KINGS CROSS, LONDON
156 Pentonville Road London N1 9JL
Surya, the world’s first fully sustainable ecological night club, created by the pioneering environmentalist Dr. Earth announces its grand opening to the world with its first ever hand crafted club night.
Club 4 Climate, the initiative behind Surya, has put together a handpicked line up that could have the club’s unique energy transferring dance floor buzzing all night long. The dance-floor is made of quartz crystals and cutting edge technology that takes the dancing motion of clubbers and distributes it to all parts of the club and neighbouring buildings, so the more you dance the more energy you save. The event will not only be about dancing foot loose and fancy free but also guilt free, promoting the foundations of the club’s ethos through its reusable energy sources from its wind turbines and solar panels, decadent and recycled decoration, interactive features such as the spirit energizing sand beds and the organic and diverse menu of $$$$tails and mixers. All that and entrance is
FREE for all like minded folk using public transport, environmentally green transportation or people power.
The gates swing open to a new world of environmentally friendly clubbing with the green fingered deck spinner
Catch23. Originally part of the duo ‘SlackShot’ riotous gigs at Ministry of Sound, 333, Nordik Impakt festival in Caen, Canvas and the Concorde 2 have quickly seen him rising up the DJ circuit. With his own parties ‘Wasted Audio’ and ‘The Drop Off!’ playing along-side Atomic Hooligan, Rennie Pilgrem, A.Skillz, Lo-Fi Allstars, Rennie Pilgrem, Soul of Man and Damian Lazarus, the night will be off to a solarising start. With its earthly influences, Club 4 Climate goes to Sweden bringing in young Swedish electro and techno producer
Blende. With massive nods of confidence coming from the Klaxon’s asking him personally to remix ‘It’s not over’ and support coming from the likes MSTRKRFT, Justice, Alan Braxe, D.I.M, LA Riots, Laurent Garnier, Punks Jump up, James Zabiela and even Hollywood celebrity Dj AM and a world tour coming up you’ll have to wear some comfy hemp shoes for a raucous Scandinavian set. Don’t be fooled by the name
Black Grass; it is as green as the Hip Hop, Soul & Funk tracks he spins. With a career spanning 20 years and building up a reputation as one of the most talented, but under-rated DJs in the UK, he has had a residency at the seminal Brighton night ‘Knowledge of Self’, then moving on to open for the likes of OC, Jurassic 5 and Big L whilst also producing the self-titled album ‘Black Grass’ in 2004, and the critically-acclaimed follow up ‘A Hundred Days in One’ in 2006, his name is well and truly up in neon lights. The night breaks through the atmosphere with critically, media and industry acclaimed artists, DJ/Producers and Radio Broadcasters, South London stalwarts,
The Loose Cannons. The Don-Daddas of DJ Duo-dom, Kaiser Saucy & Lord Fader have rocked the party across the world, from the E4 Skins house-party in London, to the Australian Music Awards in Sydney, aboard Armani’s yacht in Monte Carlo, to student parties in NYC, via an uber-art exhibition in Singapore, Manumission in Ibiza, and Exit in Serbia…. and even Keith-Prodigy’s wedding. As well as hitting all the main UK festivals, including Glastonbury, V, Lovebox and TDK Cross Central, Radio1’s Rob Da Bank and Bestival curator described the LCs as “undoubtedly the finest party djs this side of Mars”.
With the Club 4 Climate campaign now in full swing over multiple platforms the club nights are another way of doing your bit for the environment and your conscious and satisfying your green credentials whilst dancing to the finest underground and choice music in the UK. This is your chance to do your bit to help save the environment and your community whilst having a damn good time.
