Yaron Cohen - Laffy Taffy w/ Remixes by Style of Eye and Yankee Zulu

Yaron Cohen - Laffy Taffy w/ Remixes by Style of Eye and Yankee Zulu
Out Friday Sept. 26 on Beatport

Our latest addition to the Anabatic Family is Yaron Cohen. A London based producer who has been producing for years, and we are proud to have his tune Laffy Taffy on the label. It is full of quarky sounds and the kind of driving drums that Anabatic Records is known for. On remix duty for this release we have Style of Eye, who takes the tune down a more pulsing minimal route. Also Yankee Zulu returns and does what he does best and $$$$s with our heads! with a heavy bassline and crazy sounds.

    Reactions:
Stephan Bodzin – “Nice chord-action! The original is my fave. Full support.”
Ewan Pearson – “The highly wonky Yankee Zulu mix is the one for me.”
Anja Schneider – “Support the Style of Eye remix!!!”
Carl Cox – “Great simple groove, enjoying everything from this label at the moment.”
Mike Monday – “Linus does it again! Style of Eye on fire!”

    Support:

iDJ MAGAZINE – (House) – I must admit I know nothing about Yaron. I do know plenty about Katabatic however, and this fits their bleepy wonk factor perfectly. In fact if I don’t know any better I’d say it’s the label boss worthy adopting a silly name. Off-beat bleeps jostle fpr position as the funk fuses its way into the mix with 8-bit charm. Yankee Zulu smooths things off somewhat and adds a hefty bassline while he’s at it while Style of Eye applies a little minimal chic. Very nice. 4/5

iDJ MAGAZINE – (Tech-House) – There’s more than a touch of CVS about the querk-tech of the title track. Minimal yet cheeky, bleepy, its irresponsibly good funk. It is Worthy’s label after all. I like it. A lot. No need for any remixes really, then, but seeing as you’re asking Style Of Eye and Yankee Zulu’s are both every bit as god and off-the-wall as the original, making this one helluva package. 4/5

DJ Magazine - "Yarons original is a weighty groove majoring on effectsand rumbling bass. While the Yankee Zulu mix is a little more dancefloor focused, but pole position here goes to the estimable Style Of Eye with a version supprisingly like Fredde Le Grand wearing his tech hat" 3.5/5
