Me and my crew down here are already sorting out our rooms.
It'd be nice to run into some of the ukmusic.com crew down there.
I'll stay posted if you guys stay posted.
Toby, what's the deal with any UKG events during WMC? |

hey Sen, you know if there are any ukmusic.com t-shirts? if so, how can i get my hands on some, and if not, do u think anyone would be opposed to me whipping some up to sport at the conference?
also, does anyone know if the transatlantic thing is going on again this year, and if so, how can i lend my support...
or even if it is going on, would anyone be down to help me organize a poolside, day time 2-step shindig/mini showcase... I have family down yonder who are heavily involved with the travel/hotel industy...could hook something up ya know...
sterling...yes, would mos def be wonderful to have everyone meet up!!!

yes yes, im there... but you guys have to help me out cos i am a WMC virgin. got sent the info leaflet. we have decided to register so we can go to all the conferences (my mate who went last year said he didn't bother and just went to the parties) but we are not going to stay in the hotel that they recommended, gonna see if we can get something a bit cheaper as i'd rather spend my money partying!
so tell me pls:
1. is it worth regestering to go to the conferences or do you gus just go for the parties?
2. where are the parties held? around the 'complex' part of the WMC or here there and everywhere?
3. do you know of any decent hotels? my mate said there is loads in the WMC area, but as i said i am a virgin to this $$$$, please help me.
i wanna go if it kills me! |

| baby c,
1. most people say that registering for the conference is just a waste of money....I guess it just depends what you are looking to get out of it. the majority of the networking goes on at the various parties. a couple of friends have said that it might be a good idea to register if you are trying to shop tracks, but from the reviews I got about the actual workshops, they aren't telling you much that you don't already know.
2.the parties are held at the clubs and hotels in south beach. 24/7 there is a party going on....djs even set up at the laundrymat.
3.you have to book really early (as in now) to get a good rate at any hotel is south beach. most of them are decent. I stayed at the carlton last year...cute little art deco place...staff was very nice. i'll post more hotel suggestions this weekend

I'm working on it ... as soon as the holidays are done I've got to get around to the club and see what it will take to get a night there again. I'm planning to have Transatlantic at the same space as last year, but we'll see what the owners have to say first.
As for the rest of WMC, I know there are lot's of crews who want to line up UKG events ... it's just a matter of seeing if the venues and crowd will support. |

Nice one for the advice honey, and to Sterling for the emails as well.
I have booked the holiday, i am staying in a hotel called Exxex house on collins Ave one block from Oceans Drive (but being from london that don't mean much!)
So looking forward, my boyfriend really wants to go to the conference but i will show him your post and see what he thinks. |

| The conferences are usually attended only by first timers who don't know any better
To clue you in...the real deals are made on the beach, by the pools, and on the streets where you'll run into anyone from Armand Van Helden to Danny Tenaglia to Social Circles reps.
Be sure to come strapped with demos and contact cards.
Essential. |
