| Why do the media always have to put names to music? Speed Garage? Its just so that people on Radio 1 can sound like they know stuff. |

| so that they can tell you what to buy....what to like, what to eat....what to wear....
also so record stores can have more than 2 sections.
electronic and non electronic.
we need some labels....but speed garage is one of the worst, as is 2-step.
i've had to catch up way too many heads in the US about how all 2-step is really garage, and UK Garage came from US garage, but it's not really the same..........blah blah friggin blah. |

| Hellllll yeah ... so sick of having to explain that there is more to UK Garage than 2step ... especially since I really prefer the 4x4 stuff these days.
Then again, why even make the distinction between house and garage ... pretty much the same music right, just a little more vocals and disco influences in the latter.
As Manny said, there has to be some way to divvy up the vinyl section in your local record shop :-) |

| Back in 1997/1998, UK Garage wasn't called Garage at all, it was called UK Underground or Underground House, and Garage was just US Garage.
Names are a bit irrelevant anyway as it's often impossible to classify tracks into one particular category. I like what I like and that's it. |

| 2-step was how you used to be able to refer to Drum n Bass wasn't it, when it took a lighter style? Way before 2-step uk garage. |
