Default The Japanese Popstars

Nominated for BEST HOUSE DJs at the 2006 World Urban Music Awards!

One of the most talked about bands/DJs/producers in Ireland at the minute, they have literally risen up from nowhere to establish themselves as Irelands hottest dance artist! The three lads have been busy DJing and playing live across the globe, over the last 10 months - with sell out shows, a residency at Ireland 1st super club, major remix offers, massive radio airplay and a nomination for BEST HOUSE DJs at the 2006 World Urban Music Awards!

"Never has an Irish Dance Act Created So Much Hysteria From Press And Industry Alike"
Hotpress, October 2006.

The Japanese Popstars started out using MySpace as a tool to attract fans, A&R, record labels, DJs and ended up signing a 3 single and 1 album deal with Paul Jackson’s very own Dozer imprint. Now with major support coming from the likes of Pete Tong, 2manyDJs, Paul Woolford, XFMs Eddy Temple-Morris, Fergie, 2FM and BBC Radio 1. Their first release "Rodney Trotter" is out on promo and its sizzingly!

The lads themselves have been buzzing since the tune was dropped on Pete Tongs Essential Selection plus the boys passed some unreleased material to BBC Radio 1s Fergie and he awarded the title of "Speaker Freaker" to another one of the forthcoming Japstars tracks in 2007, as it was the BIGGEST tune in his box!! Support has come from some of the most well respected and well known DJs in the dance scene, its being played from Ibiza to Poland and major radio stations are picking the track up for airplay. As the buzz builds up for these boys it's only getting bigger!

"Currently Causing A Stir In The World Of Electro"
Mixmag, October 2006.

They have licensed "Rodney Trotter" to a number worldwide compilation albums and you can actually check it out on the "It's Only A Mixtape! Vol 2" compilation, which is in shops right now and mixed by Paul Jackson! Both "Rodney Trotter" and "Dirty Popstars On Your Radio" feature on this compilation and has actually led to them being asked to compile and mix one of the "It's Only A Mixtape!" series themselves!

"One Of The Hottest Electro Acts To Come Out Of Ireland Recently"
Electric Circus, May 2006.

Major heads in the industry have tipped The Japanese Popstars as the ones to watch in the coming months. They have literally appeared out of nowhere. The amount of giant leaps that they have taken in the dance music industry is an accolade in itself and even dance magazine Mixmag have labelled them as the ones to watch.

2007 is shaping up to be a busy year for The Japanese Popstars, with major remix requests coming in, tours of the USA, Canada and Ibiza plus thier debut release is only about to drop...

"The Japanese Popstars are F***ing deadly. The End. I need say no more."
Connected Magazine - August 2006.

"Rodney Trotter" is released in January with remixes from Rui Da Silva, Leif and Paul Jackson.
