Default Planet Angel ROCKS!

Planet Angel ROCKS!
Sunday 29th October 2006
2pm – 10 pm

http://www.harderfaster.net/images/...6ea395bb0ac.jpg

PLANET ANGEL ROCKS! is a one-off Sunday afternoon gathering at Jamm in Brixton, featuring four inspiring live bands, three funky DJs and at least two fantastic VJs! There will also be ‘15 minutes of fame’ slots, video screenings and a compere to make sure none of the action’s missed.

The event is a new venture for not-for-profit organisation Planet Angel, which runs regular parties and other events around the UK.

The line-up features new talent such as skewiff-pop noise quintet Horsebox, dubbed as “England’s most important obscure band” and set to support the Magic Numbers later this year; the electrifying live breakbeat collaborators Subsource; a debut appearance from Crossfader, a 6-piece band who promise a huge electronic rock pop sound; and the amazing unsigned talents of Patladjan who create brilliant atmospheric soundscapes to warm your ears - and your soul.

Between live sets Planet Angel DJs bring some seriously high quality mixing and a selection of stomping, uplifting and downright dirty beats. If you haven’t heard these guys play out before you’re in for a treat that may leave you smiling for weeks. Resident Dr F has a habit of bringing the roof down and is liable to play anything that gets you up and dancing. We’re also treating you to a breaks set from DJ Therapy, who generally leaves us gobsmacked with his seamless mixes and the beauty of his tunes. And to top it all off we’ve got U-4-IC, who was Planet Angel’s first ever DJ back in ’99 and promises to take us on a unique journey through global trance and dance.

The Stickman Visuals Collective will provide excellent eye-fodder, linking up the music with visuals and video of DJs/performers to produce a unique show.

And what’s more there’s a chance for talented performers to impress the audience during the 15 minutes of fame slots. If you want to grab a slot, get in contact…

Planet Angel ROCKS! will be webcast live and archived by those nice people at Groovy Gecko.
