Saturday 16th February sees Muak (People Together) continue to go from strength to strength as it welcomes Spain’s Wagon Cookin (
www.wagoncookin.com).
Being held at the brand new 54 Mile End, a 600 capacity venue located in the heart of East London, the night of choice for lovers of real house music will take place from 10.00pm to 6.00am.
As the holders of the accolade ‘Spain’s Soul Brother’s No 1’, Wagon Cookin was born from the deep passion of two brothers, Javier and Luis Garayalde, for good music and delicious food. Both skilled musicians, they have collaborated with such heavyweights as Rainer Trüby, Gilles Peterson and Masters at Work.
With their focus on merging electronic dance music with classical bossa and Latin jazz, their latest album release ‘2FACES’ is caught up in a storm of critical acclaim and is sure to get the party started – Muak style.
Joining them in Room One will be Shack Music’s Soy Mustafa, ably supported by Muak founders and residents Zaki and Manish.
In Room Two, Muak residents Free Form Collective, Billy Perez and People Like Us join forces to supply a seamless soundtrack of funk, rare groove, disco, house and forgotten party classics.
Looking forward to another special Muak night, organiser and promoter Zaki Lais said: “This venue is just right for Muak and we can’t wait to get kicked off. With two great rooms of music and fantastic outside space, we’re all set to take our events to the next level so come join the party!”
