Do you think you will do well in Miami with 2 step?

2step is building in Miami, but still very underground (as it is elsewhere in the U.S.)

I've been running a weekly dnb night in South Beach for the last 5 years, and we added a 2step/breaks room about a year ago, and the crowd definitely feels the 2step! We play everything from classic MJ Cole and Artful Dodger, to the latest Wookie and Zed Bias soul styles, to Zinc/Hype breakstep, to the dubstep Horsepower Prod/Ghost/Darqwan styles, and all go over equally well. The Transatlantic party will be the biggest all 2step thing to roll through Miami since last year's WMC ... I expect it to be quite an event.

People may feel that Garage has hit it's peak in the UK, but just like d'n'b five years ago, 2step is just starting to make a mark in the underground dance culture in America. I have a feeling it will be around for quite some time as more heads get turned on to the sound.

You gonna be here for WMC, Matt?

L8rz,
Toby

toby, i think you did a fine job putting this all together. be sure to post pics and a review here, maybe i can interview you about it or something? also i think e:trinity if he is half as good as a live PA as his tunes are then you should have him and michelle ninde down to do a live PA because i really think he is going be the first big US 2-step producer at the rate he is going all he needs is more exposure and i hear michelle is a HEAVY vocalist.

Thanks J ... I'll definitely give you the full update after the whole week of craziness is over. Wish you could have made it down here this year. Haven't heard about E-Trinity being in town, but I'd definitely like to check his live PA.

hold up, hold up.

WHY LADY G SPOT/EMMA FELINE?

Where are EZ, Liberty Larner, Norris, Mat Jam Tuffenuff, Hermit, and all dem lot?

Yes good to have the beanies representin, for real - but what about the heavyweights? Is that the only 2-step party at WMC this year? Does that mean they can't drop 4-floor beats?

Jus wondering..

This event was put together to spotlight more of the US people pushing the garage sound over here. but they also wanted to feature some UK talent as well.....i think Radio one was hosting their own events and the Dreem Teem and some others were going to represent. i was not able to make it to miami this year, but big up to toby and the rest of the peeps that put together the US showcase for UKG.

hello all....i'm from baltimore Md, and am new to this list.....I went to the transatlantic party at Tanja in Miami, and just wanted everyone to know that it was OFF THA HOOK!!!! The music was totally bangin', and the crowd was real chill!! I was wondering if anyone knew who was spinning in the main room between 11:30 and 12:30- that dj was working it!!! The guest appearance by MC Romeo was tight too!! The only disapointment was that Emma Feline never made it, but oh well, what are you going to do? Props to the xlr8 crew....y'all should come to Baltimore and throw a party down here sometime!! Thanks for a great time!!
peace,
jena

Peppa Crew represented at the party as well. The night was nice 4 sure. So Solid ran up in the place and set it off on the mic and on the dance floor. Big ups to TS Heritage for putting the the night together. The evening had a nice split between the patio and the main room. The patio had DJs spinning the more vocal and 4-4 side of UKG and the main room was a little darker.

Lots of beautiful ladies windin' up in the dance and singing the tunes.

We met a good number of North American UKG sounds at the party that we are going to work with and put together a true "North American" UKG Foundation.

Most of the UK DJ's didn't show but Lady G Spot and DJ Touch from Feminine pressure made up for those who din't make it.

I'll have some pics scanned and posted tomorrow. I also have some good video that I may find a spot to stream - stay tuned.
