    Default The LIVE 8 experience!

    Hello there!

I am a University student doing Events Management and I would like to analyse your expectations on the LIVE 8 in Hyde Park, London taking place on the 2nd of July.

My question is what you believe that is going to make LIVE 8 not just another concert but a true experience?

Fell free to express your feelings, ideas and expectations about this event, whether you have a ticket for the gig or not.

    Many thanks

    Alexandra

    hi,

call me old and cynical but it's not goingto make much of a difference. We live in such a consumer culture these days that people don't give a damn about ethics or causes and want to personal gratification of whatever the product may be - just look at the fake wristbands based on charity bands that are sold everywhere now. the fact that they are for charity has been forgotten and they are just another fashion accessory. same with the Live* gig - first time round with Band Aid it was something new and unique and captured people's attention to highlight the issue. Now people just want to attend a big party even if they have no idea what it's all about.

Live 8 is a globel event and not a london thing it gets people talking and yes ppl may not care to much and want a party but on the sub conscience level it will effect and make aware it's meening.... it's the same with Glastenbury peps flog to see there fav bands or go on 4 day benders having fun.....it's a non profit event and all doe goes to the needie......... People have a right to party!!!!! even if they dont care where there money goes.....in this case it still going somewhere good! with a REAL MESSAGE which the massive wont forget!!!!

Thanks a lot for your replies!

So, will you actually attend the gig? Tell me about your expectations related to the performances and the crowd you will share this experience.

Thanks again for your valuable help!

not bein funny, but i wouldnt attend a live 8 or any other charity gig if i was gettin paid to go. charity bores me to death. i really dont have anytime watsoever for any of it. ok, if i was ill with some deisease id want everyone to give money to it, but as im not, i dotn care. givin to charity is one thing, but cancelling a whole nights tv just so we can watch the poorest excuses for comedy (red nose day & that 1 with the bear with 1 eye) just aint me. stuff like that pisses me off more than anything
