It has emerged that Leeds United will land wide man Danny Pugh in the deal that will see Alan Smith join fierce rivals Manchester United.
The England international striker is set to join The Red Devils within the next 48 hours for around £7 million, although The Whites will get a player in exchange.

Smith is expected to undergo a medical at Old Trafford on Wednesday after Leeds initially rejected two bids from United in the £3.5 million and £5.5 million mark.

With a number of players on high wages at Leeds, the club will need to rely on youth if they are to ease their financial troubles and mount a top-flight return.

Pugh has only make a handful of appearances under Sir Alex Ferguson, playing against West Brom and Northampton in the League and FA Cup respectively.
