    Jump Up Tracks

Do u like em or hate em ??

Me personally i can't stand em as they just too simple and trying to b something it isn't (eg. Ragga / Soca / Salsa wannabe tracks).

Most of the tracks r mainly MC and simple B-line based and if there r vocal ones then they r well poor (u might as well call it breaks as it sound just nearly that type of stuff)

The beat always sounds like it running away from the track (cos of the BPM) plus there is no soul in it and it is well easy to make (i have tried making one b4 @ my college)

I hope the scene doesn't fully go this way as i for one don't agree with this type of stuff dominating the scene (if u wan't ragga etc go for the real thing not wannabe stuff).

I've only got a few jump up tracks to my name which i think r v.good (only just about like Decoy and that took me ages to get my head around LOL)

Bring back the soulful funky bumpy stuff i say and not just this 100 % fast paced stuff that doesn't really sound like UK G to me (sounds more like poor man breaks).

I have no prefrences to which types of garage I favour. I have always said that this is why to me UKG is so good, it has so many different influnces. I don't think I would like it if the jump side was to get to over powering, in other words wipe ouut the soulful side altogether.

These are my views any way.

I don't think it should b have n e thing to do with UKG n e way as to me it really isn't the UK G sound i kno and love .

    It's more breaks than UK G .

I love em, but then i am i jungalist, so i love my basslines dark n heavy. i really hate it when they record MC vocals over them tho- that really annoys me. I heard the Decoy vocals the other day- oh my god, they ruined it!!

    Love the jump up style!!
It won't last long though--it'll rinse itself out by July.
Cut it out Row, we all know you love Agent X's mix of "It Ain't Enough". Why that one anyways? Its just the One Night Stand template on it

About Decoy, which you talkin about? cuz there are 3 vocals out there.
    MC Ultra/EZ Exclusive Vocal
    Male Vocal
    Female Vocal

When i first got into garage, all i heard was the jump up style tunes. There wasnt as much soulful vocal stuff around, well, the shops i went to didnt stock it anyway.

LOL - just guess i like that cos it's got all the elements i like in a UK G track (or n e genre track for that matter) - Funk, Soul and a good groove

Most of the rest of em aren't like that - they lack certain elements that i like .

There's no bulid up or flow when ur mixing these type of tracks @ all plus they sound v.awkward in the mix with the standard UK G !! (always sounds like it's clanging or the mix is running away from u).

And it's the original insturmental of Decoy i like Rokko and i didn't say i hated all of it, just 99% of the jump up stuff !!

    "There is no such thing"

They say it in Duece Magazine or http://www.hyperdub.com/softwar/agentx.cfm

"At the moment we are concentrating on getting a vocal mix of Decoy out, both an MC and a female vocal. We'll try out a few ideas and see what is working." @ the bottom of paragraph 2.

So there. I guess you're slippin --you didn't even know of the Agent X remix to Always On Time. Then again alot of folks confused it wiv the Delight Camp mix.

i preffer a tune with a dutty b-line and skanky beats. but when i first got into garage it was all the funky bumpy stuff which i loved and still do. i do not buy the new bumpy stuff in my opinion its all $$$$e now, i prefer a tune like narrows ones or like transition. i do like a few odd vocal garage tracks. but vocal/bumpy and funky stuff is back in the day, i doubt it will ever be as good as back then. som, of my favourites:
    enuff is enuff
bring me up ---- there is a wikid remix of this with some bird MCin, i have a feelin its the one out of mis-teeq
i used to like joyrider b4 they released it
    joy - cases
sweet baby or baby love - not sure what its called
any tunes like these i used to love.
nice mixture of 4 4 and in 2 step
