i agree with what 'alex' and sen is sayin, cos some tracks are actually repressesed if EZ plays them a few times. look at 'suger daddy' or whatever its called, they re released that, why? cos EZ started playin it again. but how can a DJ who isnt a big name play a tune that no other DJ has, when the big names have most of their tests sent to them in the first place. only the odd one whiuch EZ wud refuse to play becos it is so poor, which wud mean it wudnt selll anyway.
it wud be hard for someone like me to play a tune not herd b4 or played b4 cos record shops only get a few copies of the fresh presses in and sell them to there favourite/biggest 5-10 customers.
u r all sayin similar things when it comes down to it, tunes sell cos EZ or someone big plays them

musics a personal thing 4 me if i dont like it i wont buy it.
UDM's website does that alot!!
that $$$$ is crazy and well annoying.
as i've said before, a lot of store owners just use the blurbs from the distro sheets...bunch of uncreative $$$$$$$s
Many of them don't have the time to listen to, let alone make comments on, each track that they get in stock.
i like to think that i have a mind of my own, but i will admit, i'll have more reason to seek out and at least listen to a record or producer that i've not yet heard of based on that record being played by your big name dj.....i have to have faith that these dj's have more power to push good new music, so if they're supporting something new, it's at least worth a listen to find out if it's hype or actually something solid.
that's part of the buzz chart mentality.....not just anyone can 'create' the buzz....but those that do can shed light on what may be forthcoming.
i also believe that those top jocks take more chances, they'll drop a new plate that they may not be sure of themselves, again to Test the Pressing, see how the people react. throw it against the wall, see what sticks.
