    House Vs UK Garage Heads...

I reckon the difference between UKG heads and House heads in this country is this:

    Typical House Head:
    Grew up in the suburbs.
    Went to a nice school.
    Parents quite well off.
Biggest worry as a teenager - "what type of VW Golf when I'm 17".

That's why they can get all excited about all that euphoric music when they're pilled up.

    Typical UKG Head:
    Grew up inner city.
    School bottom of the tables.
    Parents seperated (if they're lucky!)
Biggest worry as a teenager - "Please don't let me get caught again".

That's why they need the complex grooves of garage 'cos of their complex lives!

Bull$$$$ or whatever, but just about every "rich kid" I've ever known has been into House.

Well, the house bit is, but the garage aint. Garage has a mixture of people from all backgrounds, thats why it's so varied.

I knew this would be contraversial!

The house bit is well true!

The garage bit is harsh, but you will find that people with a background like that are more likely to be garage heads than house.

    bit different here:

House: peeps who are not really interested in music, more interested in 'seen and been seen', wearing expensive clothes, having expensive drinks, driving big cars, listen to well known hits only, not interested how good the DJ is as far as it is a big name -> average crap peeps

Garage after the last years hype: peeps who know the music, peeps who are interested in having good and exessive parties, giving a $$$$ what other peeps think of their clothes, a lot of 'em been in the underground dance scene for years alongside some cool new blood -> the audience I like, not the biggest but the best

there's not such a big difference between rich and poor here - so there's no social aspect. also I think Hip Hop will attract the poor ones here.

In my experience, rich middle-class white kid's from suburbia are usally into Grunge or Limp Bizkit..

House Head's in my experience are usally a bit 'Hippyfied' and could smoke and pop pill's for England...

But these are just generalisations, nothing's eva black n white...
