Default FAO ne1 who is saying that ukg is dead or the good old ukg has died

ive been hearing alot of people saying"ukg is dead" or "the good, old skul, ukg is dead". UR ALL WRONG! maybe ukg is crap at da mo, but that dusnt mean its dead. there is still a thriving underground scene in which garage has remained wat it was like pre 2000. where just soulful, melodic, four floor tunes r played and new ones made. this scene is bein kept alive by those who started it off. and i think, rather than all of us sayin "oh, ukg is dead", we shud get off our arses and start supportin this underground scene. help bring back the old garage! stop buying these tacky, repetitive tunes, which only contribute to mc's being able to dictate the scene (not that im against mcs). all u dj's, buy wat U like, not wat u think mc's can ride. all u mc's, stop shoutin abuse and start doin wat mc's like psg used to do. and finally, all u ravers, stop ravin screwface to music that u cant honestly lilke. rave to wat U truly like, and rave wivout the attitiude!

phew, got that off my chest!

I agree but lets face it. $$$$ modern ukg is the face of it to the whole country and world now.

So everyone thinks this modern tacky cheese top40 stuff is how ukg is meant to be. How do u get over that? They like the cheese so then cheese becomes the worldwide face of UKG.

OMG dont get me started on MCs. They dont buy records, all they do is try tek ova, prolly dont even bring their own MIKE, and chat fraff:

skibbidy dibbidy, Im the Don, I pressed ur girl, ___ crew cant step near us, Dibbidy Ribbidy $$$$ty".

The music seems to take a backseat!

And thats why $$$$ tunes are gettin made more and more, cos its just really a cheap beat underneath the MCs to keep em in time to some kinda beat.

ahh man, I too much to say, lemme just end here...

Andy C, I hear where your coming from, and I've heared one of your tunes, and believe your going in the right direction!
    I'm Narrows's bredrin!

But the issue I see is bare talk !
Everyone is talking about the olld 4/4 and two step era , but there still people making them tunes, but I don't see these tunes topping no headway on the scene.
I loved that era myself, but I move with the times.
There are bare artists who's music I won't touch.

And I buy about a quarter of the tunes I used to , two years ago.

Garage isnt dead at all, its beginning to really pick up in my opinion. People like Qualifide, El B , Karl Brown, Matt Jam , DJ Face , MJ Cole , Wookie , DND, United Grooves , Ramsey & Fen , Drama , Todd Edwards are all bringing out brilliant music and for once there is so much quality in the pipeline.

    carnage:

yanks r cool, as with euros I guess. I just feel that once ukg goes to worldwide, the uk vibe in it is gone, but I dont go in depth and expand cos it'll piss people off, but I totally dont hate americans (sometimes they do have big heads tho )
    - thats as much as I'll get off my chest without being cussed

    sen:
    thanks

    perfectionist:
Ramsey and Fen along with others are a huge let down. I cant name their tunes cos they were all white labels I heard/saw/mixed but compare it to the agent x style cheese theyre tryna make now.

MJ Cole had those hiphop MCs on one or two tracks with a reggae loop and it sucked.

easy tph. its adam c by da way, not andy c! lol. i kno wat ure sayin bout movin wiv new music and artists, and i agree to an extent. i mean, take ur mate narrows for example. his tunes hav a dark repetitive bassline......but theyve still got soul. thats wat its all about, makin music wiv soul in it. wat i dnt like is people makin repetitive bassline tunes wiv no feeling or soul, just noise.

P.S wat did he think of my demo disc?

Yeah I hear what your saying. RAF 's tunes these days arent anything on "Style" "Colours" , "Big Baby" etc. But they are still better than some of the s.hit out at the moment. "You Know" is a good tune along with "Style" (2002) and "Delicious". And MJ Cole is truly on fire. You obviously havent heard "Wondering Why" , "Perfect Pitch" and "Zoom Zoom" have you mate!!!

    Perfectionist2 knows

... although the only new track from R&F that I heard is "Style 2002", which doesn't really do it for me.

    LOL

Todd Edwards, MK and Kelly G were all American and they are some of the main influences on the scene ...

You know that. "Perfect Pitch" is my favourite MJ Cole track for a long time and "Wonderin Why" is definatly up with his best. Can't wait for his forthcoming album ...

u get me. heres a list of people dumbing down their UKG to suit 2002 "$$$$step" era:

    Artful D
    MJ Cole
    Ramsey and Fen
    Grant Nelson
    Booker T
    ......

"Style" (2002) is ruff, and "Delicious" is bad too, forthcoming on PD that one. As for Booker T his new mix of DJ Innocence "So Beautiful" is quality
