Hi

First and foremost I'm doing a research piece for my disseration on digital music, such as buying your music from iTunes, and I would be a very happy man if you could spare 2 minutes and fill out the questionnaire.

Secondly, I thought we could discuss the phenomenon here. What do you think about it? The market is growing quite rapidly and cds as you all know have been declining for half a dozen years now. I heard that apple is discussing about launching a subscription option where you pay a monthly fee and you can download as much as you want. Could that be the deathblow to the cd?

Cd Baby sent me something saying that cd sales were up 30% this past year - even though digital outsales. I have a subscription at work and use Napster but at home I have a MAC as i'm making music and use itunes. Personally I love the subscription and hope that it's fair that each artist does get paid if you click on their tracks.

I've had a couple of hard drives that I have backed my music up on and then they have gone down. Luckily I have a few back ups - but I do have a huge part of my collection on CD and can load it back it in again. I'm not buying CD's anymore so a subscription services is a big help as you wouldn't really loose your collection unless you didn't subscribe anymore.
