lol, well, its good, for the people of spain, sort of like gladiators and $$$$, and all the underprivilaged people get to see it.
but i'm against it because of them poofy dressed bull fighters, they really look like extragant michael jackson impressionists.
i think the part when the kill the bulls is $$$$ty, dont really find it entertaining when people dressed like $$$$$s run round bulls throwin spikes at them then killin them![]()

Yeah i've seen bull fighting in Spain - i'd never actually seen it at all until about 6 weeks ago when i was out there - i never knew they stabbed the bull with that long blade. It was kind of entertaining to watch for 10mins, but i thought that at the end of the day it's just crude and pointless, even though i don't personally give a f-uck what happens to the bull it still seems kinda dumb - but it's part of Spanish culture i guess
yer all the traditional $$$$, but its sort of a bloodsport though.]
and when i said it was amazing, i meant the whole experience of a proper one. cos sum of them you get tourist ones which are $$$$.
Since it's part of their cultural heritage, I don't have too much of a problem with it. Then again, someone in Spain might say the same about fox hunting over here - and I'm against that.
Maybe the difference is that bull fighting seems to be something that's widely accepted by the Spanish, whereas British fox-hunters are in the minority more because it's not spectator-friendly and it's restricted to the upper classes.![]()
From an animal rights point-of-view, however, it's all pretty savage to be taking amusement from the killing of animals.
you could say the same about boxing, kick boxing, K1, UFC, lots of things.
i preffer they stab the $$$$ out of a bull rather then stab the $$$$ out of a person.
in my books, its controled aggression, whcih is my books is an excellent skill and should be shown off.
but then i like any sort of contact sport, from ice hockey to Martial Arts, only stuff like K1 tho, the professional stuff sucks
But the main goal in contact sports isn't to kill the other person...
they dont kill the bulls though, they are just hurt em up
and trust me, it is the mike tyson in the ring, the ring, his aim will be to kill you.
they do kill them, at the end one of the matadors sticks a knife into its head, and kills it.
the spanish have some thing about whether the fight is good or not. the whistle if the bull isn't killed well or they wave white flags if the matador killed the bull well.
lol! i didnt know they killed em! yeah thats kinda fukin cruel! i think they should do that for the matadors, if they dont think he done well enough, they should dress him in red and tie him to a peice of red wood and let the bull fuk him up.
but really, the bull would be to violent to be released and would be endangared to everyone
i remember when i was younger we used to have a spanish channel on our cable and i would sometimes watch them at night. out of digust mind you, i didnt enjoy it. i find it well hard to believe this still goes on. its torture in the most cruel form. im not a particular fan of bulls but i wouldnt wish that on them.
at least with fox hunting those ponces have a semi-decent excuse "its to cut fox population, and protect the farmers crops and livestock" whereas with bull fighting, its purely for fun, fun, fun ! oh how i rejoice everytime i read a matador has been trampeled, impaled on a bulls horns etc. etc. call me a $$$$$$ but hell thats all they deserve.
Don't c the problem with it, the bull would b killed 4 meat neway, so it might as well go out in style rather than a simple bolt to the head.
lol this is funny, everyone makes a big fuss over bulls being killed.
but iraqi citizens are getting gunned down everyday and no one makes a fuss at all :S
stedz lol you are kidding yah? yeah a bull is just an animal, of which we have an hurrendous power over, but it can still feel pain. killing it for meat is one thing, but torturing it for entertainment? eeeek. thats just vile. not to mention barbaric and backward.
a lot of people are fussing about those iraqis being murdered. a lot. though whats going to be the easiest thing to change, the war or the abolishment of bull fighting. actually i've always begrudged the term 'bull fighting' as really they dont stand a chance, especially since its been proven time and time again people injure the bull and sever the roots of their horns to make them so exhausted and physically handicapped they cant even put up a fight.
but! what a bulls good for? other then meat? lol
they cant make cures for cancer, they give people First Aid, all they can do is kill us, eat our food, and reproduce, i'm all for animal rights, but you kno, its only bulls, they are angry motherfukers. Any other animal is all good with me.
plus there is a chance the bullcould win
lol didnt know the question would get this many views, quite good this intit
if there was a real good chance of it winning, ya think it would be able to continue on the scale it does? there would be so many injured matadors nobody in their right mind would allow it to carry on. anyway, what i said about handicapping the bulls... there you have it... there really is no chance.
what are bulls good for? ummm.... good question. i dunno. you could say the same thing about bears. what do they do apart from roam the earth? nout. but bear baiting is seen as bloody well awful. it should be the same for bulls, even though they arent endangered. each living thing on the planet has a right to be here (just as much as we do), i dont see how its fair we get to decide what stays and what doesnt and what we get to torture and what we dont.
i find it quite frightening a nation such as spain views bull fighting as OK. you might expect it of a backward nation, but of spain? jeez.... people are so barbaric. sometimes i have to remind myself im in the 21st century.
lol!
no! it isnt barbaric, invading another country and killing thousands of people is barbaric, fighting bulls is entertainment. Life is all about survival of the fittest, Humans are right at the top, and we find watching this contest of bull fighting a test of skill, in which the matador has a chance of winning.
i think its fine, its been a tradition thousands of years.
but then dont you think ball sports are disgusting? where they kill a pig and use its liver? or shoes where they use cow skin for leather?
loads of things are "immoral" thats why we are human, because humans arnt perfect. If we didnt make these sacrifices we would be in the stoneages
plus the bull does get used possibly for meat, or they use its skin or something, so it doesnt go to waste![]()
those bulls suffer hurrendously. its physical and mental torture of the worse kind. would you share the same opinion if it were dogs they were fighting? or bears? this has nothing to do with the war. its too different things entirely.
no i dont find ball sports disgusting. well i would prefer they used those fair trade vegan-friendly balls they sell at my local health food store and the co-op for sporting games, but unfortunately they dont. depending on how the animals are kept, hopefully they are not tortured whereas a bull is, and it certainly isnt given a quick death. and yup i find leather shoes gross, hence my veganism.
just because its tradition doesnt mean its ok. other traditions are female circumcision, honour killings and wives of the deceased burning themselves alive on their husbands funeral pyres. its been going on for years, but it aint ok.
of course humans arent perfect.... but watching a bull being slaughtered in a cruel way is not a mistake. people fookin go pay to watch it!
its not a question of can it talk, or create a cure for diseases.... its a question of whether it can feel pain and suffer.
