Avatar problem! How do I change a bitmap 2 a JPG?

Ive gotta pic ready 4 my avatar but it dont let me save it as a JPG or JPEG wot do I do?

File>Save As>nonce.jpg

JPG aint there tho, its got:

Monochrome Bitmap
16 Color Bitmap
256 Color Bitmap
24 Bit Bitmap

No JPG or JPEG!!!

when u save

just call it

nonsce.jpg

& press save.
