James Morrison is a bit similar !
The genre I suppose is as old as the music itself, best described as Singer/Songwriter also Folk or British Roots. i suppose the defining characteristic is it can be played with a lush complicated production or quite simply with only an acoustic guitar.
All the artists you mention are truly talented and their music is proof of this.
